Since 1997, Flowdesign has worked with many start-up brands. Here are a few success stories since our inception.

SoBe Beverages

The name SoBe is an abbreviation of South Beach, named after the upscale area located in Miami Beach, Florida. SoBe began as the South Beach Beverage Company and was co-founded by John Bello and Tom Schwalma. They worked with Flowdesign founder Dan Matauch to develop its iconic lizard and bottle design concept. Its innovative branding helped in its success and was bought by PepsiCo in October 2000.

Honest Tea

Seth Goldman and Barry Nalebuff came to Flowdesign with a young fledgling start-up company “Honest Tea” and utilized Flowdesign’s branding and packaging skills to build the company, which was purchased by Coca-Cola in 2011. Goldman noted the addition of a PET package in 2004 as being key Honest’s distribution expansion (“it fit more naturally into the conventional DSD system, and we know glass has challenges there”) and pointed to booming sales of its Honest Kids products (“it’s more than a third of our business and still growing… at over 40 percent” in 2014) as having a major impact on surging volume sales. In June 2014 Honest Tea announced that it has sold its billionth beverage since the brand’s debut in 1998.
